Coaches
Coach Stacy swam competitively for the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, specializing in butterfly and individual medley. She is a lifelong swimmer starting from age-group swim clubs, progressing thru high school varsity, and into college competition. During that time, she coached summer league and club swimming in Illinois and Wisconsin. Here in Seattle, she has coached club swim teams and masters at the (former) Swim Seattle club. This is her second year as the Head Coach of the Holy Names Swim & Dive program. Outside of the pool, Stacy is a Washington state certified elementary and special education educator. She earned her graduate degree from the University of Washington. She lives with her husband and two daughters in West Seattle.
Coach Sarah graduated from HNA in 2013, where she was a varsity swimmer for 4 years, competing in State in the 100 fly and on multiple relays. She continued her swimming career at Pacific Lutheran University, swimming varsity for 4 years and earning an Academic All-American award. Her main events were 50 free, 100 fly, and 200 fly. This is her first year coaching at HNA and she is excited to return to the dome! Other coaching experience includes training swimmers ranging from beginners to club swimmers. Out of the pool, Sarah is a research immunologist and an avid backpacker. Go Cougars!
Coach Sofia began swimming at Arbor Heights Swim and Tennis Club and quickly joined Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club where she swam competitively for six years. While attending Holy Names Academy she swam as a varsity athlete, focusing on butterfly and freestyle, and held a leadership role as a senior captain. Most recently, she swam on the club team at Creighton University where she supported the growth and development of the program by serving on the executive leadership team. During high school and college, Sofia coached summer league at Arbor Heights Swim and Tennis club. Sofia is excited to return to Holy Names and the swim community.
