Swive News & Have a Great Summer!

    Hi All,

I just wanted to announce some news before you leave for the summer.

    1. Congrats to our graduates! We are going to miss you so very much. Please, come visit us whenever and God bless you on your next adventure in life.

    2. Sadly, Coach Koon and Coach Emma will not be returning next year. I will miss them dearly and have cried big tears but the good news is that we have a new coach coming on board. Coach Nick is tentative depending on his job. Coach Koon might help part-time if her new math schedule permits.

Please, join me in welcoming Coach Kim Draggoo!

Kim Draggoo is a Holy Names Academy English teacher and long-time swimming aficionado. Her early childhood summers were spent in her California grandparents' backyard pool. In eighth grade, after being inspired by the 1992 summer Olympics and learning from a classmate's seventh trade "How To" speech ("How to Put on a Swim Cap") that people swam year around as a sport, she joined a local club team in Federal Way, WA. She was a four-year varsity swimmer at Decatur High School, while continuing to be a club swimmer. Then, she went on to compete as a four-year varsity swimmer at the University of Puget Sound, where she was an Academic All-American athlete. From 2008 to 2014, she was the assistant swim coach for the girls' and boys' swim teams at Brookline High School in Brookline, MA. In 2014, she was honored with the Eastern Massachusetts Intercollegiate Swim Coaches Association's (EMISCA) "Assistant Swim Coach of the Year" award.

I have met with Coach Draggoo and she has a similar coaching style to mine and has already added some great suggestions.

    3. First day of practice is August 20th which is only a couple of months from now. I will open up registration in July so remember to check your school email.

    4. I am attaching the draft swim schedule. NOTE: It can always change. The NW Catholic Invitational is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 15th at 12 pm.

    5. I was asked to post some work outs on our website which I will do but you can always look for good workouts at www.swimmingworldmagazine.com.

HAVE AN AWESOME SUMMER! SEE YOU SOON!

    God Bless you all!

    Coach Loy
