REGISTER NOW FOR HOLY NAMES SWIM AND DIVE (Ignore if you have graduated)

    Hello SWIVE!

It's that time of year to register for swim and dive team! I am looking forward to our new year. As some of you have heard, Medgar Evers Pool did not complete their renovations on time and will not be ready to open until October. So, we will be starting our first four weeks at Seattle University. If you have graduated, good luck at college and we will miss you dearly. If you are not returning to Holy Names or returning to Swim and Dive, please email me so I can take you off the email list and we wish you well in your future endeavors. For those staying, please make sure you have done the following steps:

It takes about 10 minutes to register. Here are the steps! DO IT NOW!

    • 2.Make sure you have a current physical. Physicals are good for 18 months. Go to WIAA Sports Physical Form to download a pdf file to take to your doctor. You can also go to Immediate Care (more money) for sports physicals.

Swim Suits/Jackets/Caps: We will continue to use our two black bathing suits with the Cougar logo. You will not be required to buy one of the team swim suits, but I prefer you wear black. Swim Caps will be provided and must be worn at all swim meets. Jackets will be the same depending on our inventory. Order forms will be sent out the first week of practice.

Possible Swim Cuts: Because of the issue with Medgar Evers being closed, we may have to do cuts. We will not have 12 lanes as we have had the past four years or two pools as we have had in previous years. No freshmen will be cut and ideally no returning swimmers. The school will be setting up an alternative for those of you using swim for PE credit. I really do not want it to come to this, but we may not have a choice if we do not have enough lanes. The good news is that we will have a longer practice time which will help immensely when doing circuits.

Possible Dive Cuts: Coach Ed may also be doing cuts so that divers can have more board time and are not sitting around waiting to do one dive every 15 minutes. Again, we hope it does not come to this but that is the price of having such a great program.

I can't wait to see all of you!!! Hope you all had a great summer!

Sincerely and as always, "For the Pope!"

    Coach Rachel Loy
