Please, check over your entries and reply to me that you have seen this email. 

• If you do not see your name and know you qualified, you will need to let me know what your entries are.
• If you do not see your name and wanted to wild card in. All the wild card spots have been taken. I am very sorry.
• If you are a wild card and do not want to go to Metros and would like to give up your spot, please let me know immediately. I have two swimmers on the waiting list that want to go. Wild cards are marked with a B+ next to their names.
• Again, I need you to reply to [email protected] that you have seen this email.

Important Decisions!

1. If you are in the 5th or 6th position, you may not compete in the Finals if there are 4 Holy Names athletes ahead of you so think about whether or not you want to change your event. We have 2 openings in the 200 Free. If you are battling for that 4th position with another team mate, I recommend you stay in your event. If you are like 7th position, I recommend switching to another event unless you think you can crush your time which is possible at this pool.

Example: At Friday Preliminaries Jane Doe places 7th overall in the 100 free. (4) HNA swimmers place higher than her with 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th. The rules are that we are only allowed to score our top 4 athletes in each event. Jane Doe looks at the 200 free times and realizes her fastest time from the season would have put her in the top 10 and she could have scored for our team.

Had Jane Doe swam the 200 free, she would have been qualified for the Finals.

Now, it could be that there are 6 swimmers entered in the 100 free but only 2 plan to swim it at Districts. Jane Doe might want to swim the 100 free and try to qualify for Districts or get a better time. Sorry, it is so confusing.

With diving, because it is also considered a qualifier meet, I believe that the divers will be allowed to compete in finals (even if they are ranked after 4 other HNA divers). Their score just won't count for our team.
