    District Results/State Team 2019

    Hi,

Sorry, I am sending this out late. Districts is mentally exhausting and I don't even have to swim or dive. I was almost recovered until I watched that Seahawks game last night! LOL!

First, thank you to all of you that have swam or dove throughout the season! This is a tough sport physically and mentally and tenths of a second can be the difference between making your goal or just missing it.

Our division is the top division in the State so you are swimming and diving among the top Washington athletes. Our team placed 6th but easily could have grabbed 5th in this division. Puts us as one of the top teams at State. I am attaching a State psych sheet which will show some times that you may have beat at Districts. Please, note that State has to accept so many athletes per each division and at least give the other schools a chance to be at State. In our division, you must make the B final to be considered as a wild card.

    We did incredible at Districts!

200 Medley – 4th Place and only .4 tenths of a second from our school record of 1:50.36 from 2005. We will get it at State – Sanjna Battepati, Regan Rowe, Elise Scott, Stella Cross (Hope Gelfand, Claire Douglas, Cassidy Wells, and Allyson Yao) This relay is ranked 5th in the State right now!

200 IM – Allyson Yao got 3rd Place! Regan Rowe qualified for State and got 7th place and Sanjna Battepati got 9th qualifying for State the previous day.

Dive – Diving was difficult being so early and with so many talented divers, but everyone did great. Sometimes, you must take a chance on a dive to see if you want to take that dive to State. It is a gamble and sometimes you get great rewards and other times heartache. Cait McNeill placed 10th overall. Maya Hegde made it into the finals. Ella and Hannah just missed. But Hannah will get another chance at State and Ella has next year. This is the first year that we have had 2 divers at State in HNA history. Very exciting! Go Cait and Hannah!

50 Free – Stella Cross got the State cut and placed 8th with 24.81! Thanks for the prayers!

100 Fly – Allyson Yao placed 7th and put herself in the top contenders for the 100 Fly at State.

100 Free – For those of you thinking of the 100 Free for next year. The slowest time from our division that wild carded into State was a 56.42 from Claire Archer of Roosevelt.

500 Free – For those of you thinking of the 500 Free for next year. The slowest time from our division that wild carded into State was a 5:27.25 from Ellie Patterson of Ingraham.

Note: The State wildcard for 200 Free was under 2 minutes but I think we have a large amount of athletes that can achieve that if they start thinking about it earlier in the season like during the summer. With that said, no one wild carded into this event from our division.

200 Free Relay – We placed 5th with 1:41.12 and are ranked 8th at State and 3 seconds from the State Record. Stella Cross, Cassidy Wells, Allyson Yao, Regan Rowe (Elise Scott, Grace Kelly, Gabby Smith, Sanjna Battepati).

100 Back – Sanjna Battepati placed 6th overall.

100 Breast - Regan Rowe placed 6th overall and Cassidy Wells wildcarded into State placing 11th overall.

400 Free – We placed 7th overall and are ranked 9th at State - Elise Scott, Cassidy Wells, Sanjna Battepati, Allyson Yao (Claire Douglas, Hope Gelfand, Stella Cross, Caroline Crow)

Please, join me in congratulating our SWIVE HNA State Representatives. Every single one of you at SWIVE helped to create this team by your hard work at practice, by your support, by being fun and by a team spirit of love.
