    More swim and dive information

Hello! Here is some more information about swim season. I apologize if you have already received this.

Please, look through the following steps.

    1. Register for Family ID for this year. Go to Family ID at http://www.familyid.com/holy-names-academy. You have to do this every year!

    2. Make sure you have a current physical. Physicals are good for 24 months. Go to WIAA Sports Physical Form to download a pdf file to take to your doctor. You can also go to Immediate Care (more money) for sports physicals.

    3. Please, register for the current season on SwimTopia, our swim website. To get registered for Swimtopia, which everyone needs to do whether you were registered last year or not, go to http://holynames.swimtopia.com

    4. Go to the Home Page and click on Registration. Parents should register as this is how we sign up for swim meets and how I communicate with you.

    5. Meet schedule should be posted on www.metroleaguewa.org. Please, join to get updated changes to the schedule as well as results. Note: the schedule is not out yet. It is still showing 2019. Lol.

    6. Upload the Heja app. This is how we schedule practices and send out quick information. We have one more week of captain's practices. Find them on the app. https://heja.io/download/EK781066

2021 Meet Schedule: We have not been given a schedule yet.

Swim Suits/Jackets/Caps: We will continue to use our two black bathing suits with the Cougar logo. You will not be required to buy one of the team swimsuits, but I prefer you wear black. Swim Caps will be provided and must be worn at all swim meets. Jackets will be the same. Order forms will be sent out the first week of practice.

Transportation and Buses: We are still working on getting a bus or two. This is not written in stone:

Pre-season swim practices at Rainier Beach – If a bus is available and we have a driver, Freshmen will have priority over the bus to and from practice. Only 14 seats. Must wear masks.

Regular Season at Medgar Evers – Morning practices – Parent should drop off non-driving athlete at pool. Bus may be available to take non-drivers to the school after practice. Afternoon practices (if approved) – Bus may drop off at Medgar Evers but may not return to school. So, parents may need to pick up non drivers at the pool.

Carpools & Metro Bus – Because we use the Heja app, you can see what other athletes are going to practice that day and to try to catch a carpool or a parent to arrange with another parent transportation. We also have the Metro Bus that picks up on the corner of E. Aloha and 23rd and drops off in front of the pool. Everyone should wear a mask when traveling with someone outside of your family whether you are vaccinated or not.

More Information – I will send out more information regarding the season as soon as I get it.

    Sincerely,

Coach Loy, Holy Names Head Swim and Dive Coach

I am looking forward to a great season!
